Abstract

Research was conducted to examine the kinetic and thermodynamic aspects of the quenching process by observing the quenching behavior over the series of related Ni(II) complexes. It was observed that the quenching of 3Pt2(pop)(sub 4)(super 4-) by Ni(II) complexes occurred by reductive electron transfer, generating net redox products through a low-efficiency cage escape route that is enhanced in the presence of oxygen.
