Nonseparable farm household decisions in a computable general equilibrium model

An optimization and mixed-complementarity versions of a nonseparable micro household model with endogenous shifts between buying, selling and self-sufficiency regimes was developed. The mixed-complementarity model was then embedded in a computational general equilibrium model. Results using the model showed the importance of using a nonseparable household specificiation. In addition, the importance of transaction costs was highlighted.
