75 years young

Ace Hardware Corp celebrates its 75th anniversary in 1999, having been founded in 1924 by Richard Reese and other Chicago-area hardware dealers. In the coming 21st century, incumbent Pres and CEO David Hodnik aims to fast track company growth to cope with the rapidly changing and consolidating home improvement retailing industry. As a first step, Ace Hardware Corp has agreed to merge its lumber, building materials and millwork division with Builder Marts of America.
