Abstract
- Idealizations and approximations of physical circuits are used to mathematically demonstrate the general condition under which energy transfer to a capacitor is complete. It is proven that energy delivery to the capacitor is complete, without the missing energy, for so long as the voltage across a capacitor is continuous and differentiable. Two idealized circuits that are exceptions to this general condition are also analyzed.
