Synthesis of enantiopure alpha'-amino alpha,beta-epoxy ketones from alpha'-amino bromomethyl ketones

Enantiomerically pure alpha'-amino alpha,beta-epoxy ketones (2) were prepared in an efficient synthesis starting from alpha'-amino bromomethyl ketones and the further transformation of compound 2 into an amino diepoxide as a synthetic application. The synthetic procedure for the synthesis of enantiopure alpha'-amino alpha,beta-epoxy ketones is based on the Darzens reaction which is one of the more reliable methods for the construction of alpha,beta-epoxy ketones.
