Abstract

Some physicians make blunders in their malpractice defense that may turn a jury against them. One of these is by showing arrogance on the witness stand. Others include demonstrating stupidity, laughing in court, showing discrimination against patients, making jokes about patients' appearance, wasting time explaining things, denying authoritativeness of own articles, altering chart notes, writing unusually lengthy chart notes, taking a lawsuit too seriously and giving up hope.<br />Arrogance on the witness stand is just one way doctors make themselves the target of jurors' ire.
