Abstract

A five-step approach to Y2K as it affects credit unions is proposed. Most of what have been written about Y2K is inadequate because they seem to involve only three alternatives: correcting the BIOS (the hardware's basic input/output system), buying a new PC and acquiring software that would solve the Y2K problem. The approach recommended is composed of five layers, each of which must be coordinated with the rest.
