Abstract

Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) infection in cats, a disease similar to HIV infection, causes progressive neurological disease as the ratio of CD4/CD8 lymphocytes falls. CD4 lymphocyte depletion with progressive disease may cause the onset of encephalopathy and neurological abnormalities.
