Abstract

Technological innovations in filter efficiency were intended for hydraulic systems that have servo valves and piston pumps that are very sensitive to contaminants that are under five microns in size. Synthetic materials such as polyester or fiberglass, due to their smaller fibers compared to cellulose media, are capable of trapping more contaminants without affecting oil flow because they can have more pores.
