Abstract

A study was conducted to determine the liquid crystal and nonlinear optical properties of rhodium (I) and iridium (I) complexes containing beta-diketonate or pyrazole ligands. X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis show that some beta-diketonate compounds have two different polymorphs at the solid state. It was also found that the color and infrared spectra of the solid forms seem to be influenced by a different intermetallic-packing arrangement in the metal centers.
