Comment on 'Rotational alignment in supersonic seeded beams of molecular oxygen' (J. Phys. Chem. 1995, 99, 13620)

The study on the molecular oxygen in supersonic seeded beams by V. Aquiliani et al. is problematic. Their findings disagree with those in the study by Harich and Wodtke in terms of the alignment of CO in a supersonic beam. Moreover, the highest polarizations reported by V. Aquiliani et al. are physically impossible and the lower alignment polarization cases they presented give improbable distributions.
