Abstract: A study was conducted to analyze the role of carotenoids in photoinduced processes at the carotenoid/TiO2 interface. Electron paramagnetic resonance and ultraviolet-visible studies of titanium dioxide particles were carried out. The particles were modified with various carotenoids, including two containing terminal -CO2H groups. In addition, the photoreduction of acceptor molecules was discussed.
