Abstract

Research was conducted to examine the synthesis of a compound (ImH)(L1OV-(mu-O)-VOL2) containing two dissimilar tridentate ONS ligands, H2L1 and its bromo derivative H2L2, bound to the metal centers. To understand the molecular and electronic structures of the compounds, X-ray crystallography, EPR, 51V NMR and FT-IR spectroscopic studies were performed. The spectra demonstrate 15-line features with asymmetric distortions that smooth out with the lowering of temperature which may have originated from a solvent-dependent equilibrium.
