Abstract
- West African Aspergillus section Flavi isolates differ from those found in North America. While both isolates produce aflatoxin B, 40 and 100% of West African isolates also produce aflatoxin G(sub 1) in NH(sub 4) medium and urea medium, respectively. In contrast, North American isolates do not produce aflatoxin G(sub 1). This physiological and geographical divergence of West African and North American isolates of Aspergillus section Flavi may affect aflatoxin management.
