Abstract

Linkage disequilibrium plays an important role in genetic implication of alcoholism. In research of both alcoholics and controls, portions of chromosomes in ADH2 are significantly different between the two groups. However, portions of chromosomes in ADH3 are not notably different between alcoholics and controls. Functional ADH3 polymorphism is driven by ADH2 disequilibrium.
