Abstract
- A study was conducted to analyze the rate-determining step in the phosphatidylcholine-preferring phospholipase C from Bacillus cereus (PLC(BC))-catalyzed hydrolysis of phospholipids. Assays in the presence of increasing concentrations of sucrose were carried out on recombinant and commercially available PLC(BC). Results indicated that the hydrolysis of monomeric phospholipids by PLC(BC) is negatively influenced by a chemical process.
