Abstract
- Strategic management should be used as the basis for research on operations strategy amd management. Competition in formulating management strategies has shifted from being market-based to resource-based. Market-based strategies attempt to formulate decisions against existing market trends, whereas resource-based strategies seek to increase profits by developing and protecting existing and potential markets by continuously improving operational resources and advantages unique to a particular firm.
