Abstract
- Most of the features of laser printers revolve around speed, print processing and paper handling. Print speeds will vary depending on the print job, but 8 ppm is the minimum for a personal printer. Memory is important in rapid printing, and Random Access Memory (RAM) is used for the temporary storage of documents, instructions and downloading fonts. GDI technology means that a PC processor will interpret Windows commands and store them in the memory until it is sent to the printer. Font types encountered when purchasing a printer include resident fonts, bitmapped fonts, and computer fonts.
