Abstract

The in situ isolation of baroreceptor regions of the carotid sinus and aortic depressor nerves of rats have been carried out with new methods. The latter do not require special materials, tools or manipulation of the baroreceptor regions. Ball bearings are used in extracting the sinus baroreceptor region while the baroreceptor area of the right aortic depressor nerve is isolated by ligation of the innominate, common carotid and right subclavian arteries.
