Abstract

The solution structures for the [OKA] and [ARAC] Okazaki fragments, intermediates that form during the lagging strand DNA replication, differ only in the substitution of cytarabine in [ARAC] for one deoxycytidine [OKA]. The solution structures of the fragments each consist of two domains, namely, a DNA duplex region, and an RNA-DNA hybrid duplex region. The helical axes for DDR and HDR of [OKA] are bent 22 degrees relative to one another.
