Abstract

Research was conducted to identify and characterize a family of telomere-associated autonomously replicating sequences and their functions in targeted recombination in Hansenula polymorpha DL-1. Genomic Southern blotting revealed various homologues in the genome of H. polymorpha. Results indicate that the integration of the plasmids containing telemeric multiple autonomously replicating sequences occurred largely through homologous recombination at the telomeric repeats.
