Abstract

Research was conducted to examine the temperature dependence and rate constant of the reaction of hydroxyl radicals with 2-fluoropropane (HFC-281ea) through relative rate experiments. Propane, ethane and ethyl chloride were used as reference standards while gas chromatography and infrared spectroscopy were used for the calculations. Results based on the two approaches were in good agreement except that the gas chromatography data were more precise.
