High harmonic generation induced by permanent dipole moments

The interaction of an electromagnetic field with a two-level molecular system where the permanent dipole moments are explicitly considered was investigated. The nonzero difference between permanent dipoles was found to induce a polarization oscillating at an increasing electromagnetic field resonance frequency. Results also showed an amplification of even harmonics and absorption of odd harmonics.
