Kinetics of silylene insertion into N-H bonds and the mechanism and kinetics of the pyrolysis of dimethylsilylamine

Research was conducted to examine the kinetics of silylene insertion into N-H bonds and the mechanism and kinetics of the pyrolysis of dimethylsilylamine. The objective of the study is to provide an insight into the gas phase thermal processes that take place in the reaction of SiH4 and NH3 and higher alkylamines. Comparisons of mechanistic expectations with the product data suggest a more complex reaction system.
