Abstract

Bioheat transfer presents tremendous opportunities for basic research in biological and medical sciences. The development of physiological function models, clinical and laboratory instrumentation and analytical tools for the optimal design of tissue processing systems provides evidence of the importance of heat transfer in biology. Bioheat transfer is already making significant contributions in the field of biomedicine with the advent of thermally driven clinical diagnostics and thermal therapies.
