Abstract
- The reaction of octachlorodirhenate with a redox-active tetrathiafulvalene phosphine ligand was investigated. Experimental results showed that the reaction produces the mixed-nuclearity paramagnetic salt (ReCl2(omicron-P2)2)(Re2Cl6(omicron-P2)) consisting of the mononuclear Re(super III) complex and the mixed-valence Re(super II)-Re(super III) dinuclear anion. The salt provides new information on the reaction pathway of (Re2Cl8)(super 2-) with diphosphine ligands.
