Abstract

Chemistry students at the secondary level can learn about matter and its behavior at the particle level by making flip books with about twenty 3 x 5 cards. The books allow an illusion of motion and are best used for a rather simple reaction. The students need to be sure to use a color code or labeling system to make representations of atoms identifiable.
