Floater force strengthening

One of the most buoyant sectors of the offshore hydrocarbons industry is the floating production market, which continues to dominate the offshore sector. A forecast from Norland Consultants suggests that some 190 floating production units will be needed between 1999 and 2002, but this is a conservative estimate and could be increased for West Africa and Latin America beyond 2000 if West Africa continues to achieve record success ratios and if Brazil's offshore sector is privatized.
