Abstract: Defense industry manufacturers continue to be pessimistic regarding 1999 and the years following. This gloomy outlook has thereby rendered uncertain the future of their distributors. A number of distributors have attributed the uncertain and gloomy outlook to the Asian economic crisis, which continues to affect the defense sector and, consequently, defense sector suppliers.
