Abstract
- A study was conducted to analyze the biological significance and chemical basis for the inhibition of Bacillus cereus UW85 by alfalfa seed exudate. The colonization and biological control capabililties of mutants resistant to canavanine were also examined. Experimental results showed that canavanine inhibited the growth of B. cereus UW85. Findings also indicated that alfalfa seeds in a cultivar differed in the inhibitory nature of their exudates.
