Beer bottles look to be the next mega-volume plastics market

Technological breakthroughs in terms of materials, favorable resin prices, bottle design and machinery are enabling beer brewers to commercially bottle beer in plastic bottles. The plastics market for beer bottles is huge and highly lucrative but whether or not consumers will embrace the idea of beer in plastic bottles remains to be seen. Studies regarding this matter show that there is no clear consensus regarding consumer acceptance of plastic bottled beer.
