Abstract

Reliance Electric will lay off 83 workers at its 590-employee Engineered Motor Plant at Kings Mountain, OH, as part of a restructuring of the automation group of Rockwell International Corp. There is a possibility that employees to be laid off could be called back to work within 12 months, according to a Rockwell Automation spokesman. The job cuts in the automation group are expected to affect all in all 3,000 employees within 10 months. The restructuring has led to the consolidation of management of Rockwell's Reliance Electric brand motors and Dodge brand mechanical power transmission products.
