Comcast Online signs provider contracts

Comcast Online announced that it has forged new partnerships with 13 content providers, including AccuNet, American Movie Classics, E! Online and SonicNet. The move steps up the company's strategy aimed at becoming the top choice for local content. There are about 25,500 current subscribers in Comcast oHome, a high-speed modem service offering Internet delivery at hundred times faster than a dial-up modem. Comcast intends to launch offerings that work best using high-speed broadband modems, such as multimedia and audio or video streamed product.
