Industrial Relations of Recession

In Great Britain there has been a dramatic increase in unemployment. A long run recession continues. These problems and others are discussed based on national trends and trends, in particular, in the North. Tables show changes in employment due to the recession and technological change. The effects of the recession on trade unions is discussed and studied. Government policy regarding industrial relations is discussed.
