Abstract
- The soft drink industry showed modest sales increases in 1982. Diet and caffeine-free brands had the largest growth with colas, root beer, and pepper-drinks dropping in share. Diet and caffeine free's increasing importance indicates trends toward nutritional awareness and moderation. Seven-Up's 'never had-it' (caffeine) campaign helped it take over the no. 3 favorite drink spot from Dr. Pepper.
