Abstract

A study was conducted to correlate the experimentally observed electromigration of Au nanoparticles (NPs) with a closed-form theoretical model that furnishes key NP characteristics, including the unknown values of Au NP core [zeta]-potential, PEG-corona permeability and particle-hydrogel friction coefficient The theory provides a new insight into NP electromigration in complex environments and establish a robust and predictive model to accomplish the design and characterization of functionalized NPs.
