Abstract
- The extent to which short-term changes in the labor market affect poverty duration is examined by using survival models and data from the Brazilian Monthly Employment Survey. These changes refer to aggregate unemployment and wage increase in the informal sector. In the metropolitan regions, households with zero income are not those with the lowest chances of exiting poverty.
