Abstract
- The patterns in infection status with respect to Wolbachia and Cardinium were determined to estimate the correlation with oviposition rate and distinguish between additive genetic and maternally inherited bacterial variation. The results suggested that standing variation for oviposition rate in the studied population consists largely of deleterious alleles as observed in a mutation-selection balance.
