The findings from the research on the vascular endothelial growth factor B (VEGFB) produced by heart, skeletal muscle and brown adipose tissue and novel role of VEGFB as a regulator of lipid delivery to fat-burning tissues. The study could have important implications for indisputable evidence of profound influence of lipid balance at the whole-body and tissue levels on interorgan crosstalk and possible application of VEGFB as therapeutic target.
