Abstract
- The study attempts to evaluate the most effective and safe highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) in preventing human immunedeficiency virus type -1 (HIV-1) transmission during pregnancy and breast-feeding. The results indicate that all regimes of HAART had positive outcomes in reducing HIV-1 transmission, with a overall rate of 1.1% between mother and infant.
