Abstract: A multiplex nested PCR assay was developed using two randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) sequences to detect Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. allii. The developed PCR-based assay could be applied to certify that the commercial seed lots are free of the important seed-borne pathogen, X. axonopodis pv. allii.
