Abstract
- The World Trade Organization has ruled that $20 billion in loans given by the European Union to aircraft maker Airbus to develop six passenger jet models were illegal export subsidies. The European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co. - Airbus's parent company - may be forced to repay some of the loans or risk higher tariffs in the U.S. on imports from Europe.
