A cluster randomized controlled trial to prevent injury due to falls in a residential aged care population

A study undertakes a cluster randomized controlled trial to examine the impact of various methods used to prevent injury due to falls in a residential aged care population. Findings indicate that strategies such as using hip protectors, Vitamin D and calcium supplementation and a full-time nurse for assistance do not reduce the number of falls or falls injuries in the residential aged care population.
