Structural impact of human and Escherichia coli biotin carboxyl carrier proteins on biotin attachment

The effects of the human and Escherichia coli biotin carboxyl carrier proteins on the biotin attachments observed in the system are discussed. The thumb loop found in these bacterial carboxylases are shown to hinder the interaction of the biotin protein ligases.
