Direct observation of nucleation and growth in amyloid self-assembly

A combination of the real-time imaging and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy techniques is employed to explain the nucleation and growth observed in amyloid self-assembly. The analysis is shown to be extremely beneficial for the development of models for protein misfolding.
