Abstract: The development of an efficient enantioselective Friedel-Crafts alkylation of indoles to ethyl glyoxylate catalyzed by chiral N,N'-dioxide-Sc(III) complex is described. The corresponding 3-indolyl(hydroxy)acetates compounds are produced with high enantioselectivities.
