Abstract

The advancement in the sphere of 'flash' memory technology, leading to the invention of nanoscale chips with 'supermemory' capabilities for an enormous level of storage and retrieval of content in devices, is discussed. The salient technological features of several supermemory systems being developed, such as magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM), ferroelectric random access memory (FeRAM) and racetrack memory are described.
