Abstract: Lewis acid catalyzed ring opening of 1,1-cyclopropanediesters by the hydroxyl group of a propargyl alcohol sets up a subsequent Conia-ene cyclization to produce substituted tetrahydropyrans in a one-pot, high-yielding procedure.
