Identification of a novel antibody associated with autoimmune pancreatitis

The study identifies a potential serologic marker with the ability to discriminate autoimmune pancreatitis from pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The antibody identified is detected in most patients with autoimmune pancreatitis but also in some patients with pancreatic cancer, suggesting the test cannot be used alone to distinguish between the two conditions.
