Abstract
- A theoretical model describes a right-angled bent cantilever beam that is subjected to a rigid mass' suddenly imposed velocity. The beam is characterized by the ratio of torque over fully dynamic plastic bending moment is less than one. Other specifications are also set for beam segment lengths and mass unit per length. The specified case required a double hinge mechanism, with a pure bending hinge in the first segment and a combined bending-torsion hinge for the second segment.
